Nun collapses, dies in court amidst nasty legal battle over convent with Katy Perry

Sister Catherine Rose Holzman, an 89-year-old Roman Catholic nun, had been fighting Perry over the sale of the eight-acre Los Angeles convent. Holzman collapsed during a court appearance on Friday, Reuters reports, and died shortly after.

Holzman had been fighting the pop star alongside fellow nun Sister Rita Callanan for over two years on behalf of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
The sisters had hoped to sell the property for a whopping US$15.5 million to restaurateur Dana Hollister in 2015, who had plans to convert it into a hotel. But at the time, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles had already been in talks to sell it for $14.5 million to Perry, who had plans to live there.
