Lou Diamond Phillips takes plea in drunk driving case

La Bamba star Lou Diamond Phillips has taken a plea deal in his DWI case. The actor pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated in November in Portland, Texas, and was sentenced to two years probation. The 56-year-old actor must stay sober, take a DWI education class, stay away from bars, and report in-person to a probation officer for the next four months. Phillips was arrested after he pulled over to ask a police officer directions and the cop detected alcohol on his breath.

The actor was two and a half times over the legal limit.
