Florida man killed by large, flightless pet bird

A large, flightless bird native to Australia killed its Florida owner when it attacked him. A cassowary killed the man on his property near Gainesville using its long claws. Cassowaries are similar to emus and stand up to 1.8 metres tall and weigh up to 130 pounds.
The San Diego Zoo calls them the world's most dangerous bird. They carry a 10-centimetre, dagger-like claw on each foot. Cassowaries have a reputation for being dangerous and can be extremely aggressive if provoked.
